I am running on a Windows 11 machine with Ubuntu under WSL2, and using python3. I am not using a separate X server.

When I issue a plt.show() command the figure gets displayed correctly. But when I click on the floppy disk icon to save the image to a file I get a full screen blank white background instead of a file selector dialog box. Hitting escape closes it.

Is there something i have missed out when installing or configuring my environment?

Hope this is something obvious and stupid.
