Brie Larson (born Brianne Sidonie Desaulniers on October 1, 1989 in Sacramento, California) is an American actress and singer. She has starred in various films including Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street and Trainwreck. She also had a role on the Showtime television show United States of Tara. As a singer, Larson released an album, Finally Out of P.E., in 2005. She was last active as a musician in 2010, when she collaborated with the band Metric for a song in the movie Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Larson stars as one of the lead characters, Ma, in 2015’s movie Room, based on the book of the same name.

Larson is best known for starring in the movies 21 Jump Street, Trainwreck., and for winning the Best Actress award at the 2016 Oscars for her role in Room.

Personal Life:

Larson actually learned French as her first language. She decided to use the surname, Larson, of her great-grandmother as her stage name. In the past, Larson has dated musician Alex Greenwald and actor John Patrick Amedori. She and Alex got engaged in March 2016 after three years together.
