Anti and pro-Trump supporters in Hollywood have reacted to his win after the 2024 U.S. election ended. Read their statements.

Now that Donald Trump has been declared the winner of the 2024 U.S. presidential election, Hollywood is weighing in. From movie stars to billionaires, some shared their grievances and others expressed their excitement over the results.

Cardi B, who campaigned for and supported Vice President Kamala Harris, wrote a “thank you” note to her via Instagram.

“To Vice President Kamala, no matter what they’ve said to bring you down or belittle your run for presidency, they can never say you didnt run your race with honesty and with integrity!” Cardi wrote. “You really put up a fight against all the odds that were already stacked against you! You never accepted defeat as an option, which says so much about your strength and about your heart. You really wanted better for ALL of us!”

Just days after supporting Harris’ campaign, Cardi shared a video saying, “I hate y’all,” referring to pro-Trump voters. She then followed up by thanking Harris in a lengthy Instagram note.

You really wanted better for ALL of us! This may not mean much but I am so proud of you! No one has ever made me change my mind and you did! I never thought I would see the day that a woman of color would be running for the President of the United States, but you have shown me, showed my daughters and women across the country that anything is possible. Thank you for being an example, thank you for being empowered, thank you for being a real example of what the American dream should be!”

One day after revealing she cast her ballot for Harris on The View, Alyssa addressed the election results, acknowleding that “tens of millions of Americans voted” for Trump.

“We disagree with them,” she pointed out, referring to Trump’s supporters. “But they are good, decent people, who are patriots and love this country. And I can’t speak to what drove them to the conclusion of being with him, but I think it is a moment for us to listen to each other, to hear each other, express what our concerns are.”

Musk blasted American media outlets, alleging that they “lied” to the American people.

“The reality of this election was plain to see on X, while most legacy media lied relentlessly to the public. You are the media now,” he tweeted. “Please post your thoughts & observations on 𝕏, correct others when wrong and we will have at least one place in the world where you can come to find the truth.”

The actress penned a lengthy Instagram caption about what a democracy is and what Trump’s victory means for Americans.

“It means a sure return to a more restrictive, some fear draconian time,” Jamie claimed in her caption. “Many fear their rights will be impeded and denied. Many, minority groups and young people will be afraid. Gay and trans people will be more afraid. We know that many women will now find it difficult to get the reproductive healthcare that they need and deserve. For all those people there will be those who will help you. Me included. But what it really means is that we wake up and fight. Fight for women and our children and their futures and fight against tyranny, one day at a time. One fight at a time. One protest at a time. That’s what it means to be an American. That’s what it has always meant and will always mean regardless of the outcome. Be gentle with people today. Be gentle with yourself today. Feel your feelings today but most of all…..Be an American today.”

Wendell tweeted a grim note about the future he foresaw for the U.S.

“Elections have consequences,” the actor wrote. “The Supreme Court will be changed for a generation. I’ll never see a moderate court again in my lifetime. Alito and Thomas will step down, and Trump will appoint 40-year-old partisans to the bench. The damage he is about to inflict on our institutions the next 2 years will be irreparable.”

The former president and first lady released a joint statement via social media, congratulating Trump on the victory.

“This is obviously not the outcome we had hopes for, given our profound disagreements with the Republican ticket on a whole host of issues,” their statement read. “But living in a democracy is about recognizing that our point of view won’t always win out, and being willing to accept the peaceful transfer of power.”
