Former President Barack Obama and president-elect Donald Trump were seen talking at Jimmy Carter‘s funeral on January 9, 2025, and viewers who caught the moment couldn’t believe it. Obama’s wife, Michelle Obama, was not present. The Democrat and the Republican were seen sharing a few laughs and appeared to have an amicable conversation before the funeral procession began.

At one point, Obama was seen pointing to something straight ahead while Trump listened. In another moment, both politicians chuckled, but it’s unknown what they were discussing. However, a lip reader told the New York Post that Trump was seen saying a “matter of importance” to talk about once they could “find a quiet place later.”
