Kim Kardashian says mom life has been a learning experience for her.

Taking advice from sister Kourtney Kardashian Barker, the SKIMS cofounder, 43, tries to find "little things" to do to bond with her kids, starting with daughter North, 10.

"North is really special and smart and creative and definitely beats to her own drum. Her personality is really, really silly," she explains as the two work on cutting up a cucumber — which they later realize is a zucchini — in the latest episode of The Kardashians,

"It's so interesting because her temperament as a child is the same now. You definitely just come out your own person," she shares.

"Kourtney always says North is my lesson on this planet. It means I'm supposed to learn more patience. She teaches me patience. She has taught me a lot about life."

Mom and daughter cook together, with North working on hand-rolling sushi as Kim fries chicken. Amid their culinary adventures, North grabs an onion and bites into it like an apple, before offering it up to her perplexed mom.

In a confessional, Kim explains how this time with North is particularly special to her. "I love spending this time with North right now because I'm about to go to Pelican Bay and visit a prison there. Anytime I can talk to her about what I do and why I do it is really important to me."

Asking North what she thinks of the work, she says, "I think it's good."

"It's just really important for my kids, all of them, to see what it's like to help someone else and put someone else first, and there's no better way than through example."

In addition to North, Kim is also mom to Psalm, 4, Chicago, 5, and Saint, 7, with ex Kanye West.

Elsewhere in the episode, Kim explains to Kourtney, 44, that North will make her feel like things are better when she's spending time at her dad's.

"And then North, she'll go to her dad's and she'll be like, 'Dad is the best. He has it all figured out. He doesn't have a nanny. He doesn't have a chef. He doesn't have security. He lives in an apartment.'"

Kourtney admits her kids do the same with Disick, saying "the vibe is better" at his house.

"I think everything falls on the parent that's more involved," Kourtney concludes.
