PHN Penguins Podcasts
Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now delivers the inside scoops and analysis a few times per week on the Pittsburgh Penguins. Locker room interviews, expert analysis, and whatever else we can scrape together.
In episode 25, we set the stage for the Penguins’ big week ahead. The New York Rangers surrendered their 2025 first-round pick to the Penguins to close the loop on the pair of trades; the Rangers traded a first-round pick to the Vancouver Canucks, who then flipped it to the Penguins for Marcus Pettersson and Drew O’Connor.
We spent the first two minutes discussing the Rangers’ decision and the options it opens for them. Then we turned our attention to the options receiving the pick opened for Penguins general manager Kyle Dubas, including the potential to trade up (2:30) before getting to the defensemen who could or should be available to the Penguins at Nos. 11 and 12 (6:30). We lay out the veteran trade that Dubas should consider post haste and the teams that could be interested (7:30).
And we finished the latest episode with bad contracts and salary dumps that could become Penguins trade targets (14:07).
