Sonya is a Rutgers Certified Master Gardener, a board member of KidsGardening.com, Slow Food Ark of Taste Northeast and a and co-coordinator of educational programming with Ujamaa Cooperative Farming Alliance.

She has successfully partnered with numerous organizations around the world to spread the word about the importance of increasing access to public and community gardens, as well as seeds. By doing so, she empowers individuals to grow their food and inspires children and youth to pursue sustainable agriculture careers.

She is an advocate for lifelong learning with her Master’s in Teacher Leadership and Master Gardener certification. She is also certified in seed production and seed farming, permaculture design and sustainable horticulture.
